About the project
The academic origin of this platform, its purpose, and the analytical framework supporting it.
Academic Origin
This website was born during the preparation of the Executive MBA Master's Thesis in Digital Transformation, where I developed an analytical framework for the rigorous financial evaluation of ERP system implementation projects.
The thesis applied Corporate Finance methodologies — Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), discounted payback, and sensitivity analysis — to a domain usually treated with superficial metrics or estimates lacking quantitative backing.
Purpose
roierp.com is a space for dissemination and applied research. It is neither a commercial tool nor an advisory service. Its objective is to share a rigorous analytical framework with explicit assumptions and a traceable methodology, so that professionals and organisations can build better-founded business cases.
The content is targeted at:
- Finance directors and CFOs evaluating technological investments.
- Digital transformation leads who need to justify expenditures to committees.
- Consultants and analysts building business cases.
- Academics and researchers interested in the intersection of Corporate Finance and information systems.
Analytical Framework
The core methodology combines three disciplines:
- Corporate Finance: NPV, IRR, discounted payback, WACC, and scenario sensitivity analysis.
- Information Systems Engineering: benefit modeling by functional area, TCO, and learning/adoption curves.
- Organisational Change Management: implementation risk factors, sector benchmarks, and benefit ramp-up curves.
